Twin cities natural wonderland
14 days Melbourne-Great
Ocean Road-Sydney-Phillip Island-Melbourne
Experience
the natural, cultural and historic beauty of Victoria en-route to the
glamour and spectacle of Sydney’s harbour.
Riding out from Melbourne,
Australia’s second largest city, you’ll tour the winding Great
Ocean road, world famous for its incredible coastal views, unique rock
formations and welcoming towns.
The Grampians, a national park,
rugged mountain range and home to more than 1000 native plants, awaits
you. From Hall’s Gap you meander through Victoria’s gold country
to the by-gone steam paddle-boat city of Echuca.
Continuing along the mighty
Murray river, you head to Corryong in the foothills of the snow country.
Up into Victoria’s winter wonderland, even more impressive in summer,
you wind through the alpine roads of Mount Hotham and Cooma, down to Australia’s
premier city, Sydney. After a rest day exploring all Sydney has to offer,
the coastal highway beckons to Bateman’s Bay. Back into the majestic
alps to Jindabyne, then descend to Lakes Entrance.
The
inspiring lakes and wilderness of east Gippsland guides you to its jewel,
Wilson’s Promontory national park, the southernmost tip of Australia’s
mainland. Phillip Island is the home of the nightly penguin parade. Then
the adult playground of Melbourne awaits you.
