Tour 2
Reef, rock and road
14 days Cairns-Great
Barrier-Brisbane-Alice Springs-Ayers Rock-Sydney-Melbourne, one way
September 26, 2005
This tour could have been called the “Aussie Icons Tour”. On this tour we visit the Great Barrier Reef, Brisbane, Ayers Rock, Sydney, Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road.
You’ll be awestruck
at the welcoming tropical islands on your left, sugar and exotic fruit
plantations lead from the hinterlands. This is God’s country.
Leaving the Great Barrier Reef
we travel down to Airlie Beach then Rockhampton and Bundaberg then on to Noosa and Brisbane for our flight to Ayers Rock. At the heart of Australia is the ancient red
monolith of Ayers Rock, Uluru, and Alice Springs.
On our return to Brisbane we collect our motorcycles and head south through Surfers Paradise to Coffs Harbour, the sometimes home of Russell Crowe. From Coffs Harbour we travel to the National Motorcycle Museum at Nabiac, then to Gosford. The next morning we head into Sydney for our Seafood Harbour Cruise. From Sydney we head to Melbourne for the Great Ocean Road leg of the tour. We stay at the Loch Ard Motor Inn at Port Campbell, returning the next day to Melbourne for the farwell dinner.
